Carol & Jeremy to complete a half marathon for the Alzheimer’s Society

In June the Alzheimer’s Society is raising funds by organising Trek26, a half-marathon starting from Bakewell.

There is a team of four people, all of whom are suffering from Alzheimer’s, who plan to each run/walk over a stage of the half-marathon course; this includes Caryl Hartwright and Jeremy Brayshaw.  They are not allowed to participate as a relay team in the Trek26 event but, with the support of the Alzheimer’s Society, they will do their Pre-Trek26 on Tuesday 9th June.

For each of the 4 participants this will be quite a challenge but they are doing this as their fight against Alzheimer’s in the hope that they will raise significant sponsorship to fund research into finding a cure for this dreadful disease.

If you are able to help, please click on the links below and donate what you can afford.

You can of course support both!

If you wish to encourage them by joining them in their run/walk you are welcome to do so but you will have to arrange your own transport.

Caryl will set off from Bakewell Showground at 9.00 a.m on the 9th June. She plans to jog about 4 miles to the revolving gate at the exit of Chatsworth at Barlow.

There she will join Jeremy at around 10.00 a.m.and together they will walk 3 miles to Calver.  The other two members of the team will then take over walking back at Bakewell.
