What is it?

A four-leg relay in the beautiful scenery of Southern Snowdonia. There will be 200 fell running teams from across the country so it’s a real celebration of everything fell running. Teams consist of 6 athletes who will compete over 4 legs, 2 short, one long and one navigation exercise.

Race format

The race is a tough one, with 4 legs each throwing up their separate challenges, including hard climbs and steep descents on difficult terrain. It is important that all runners have the navigation & mountain experience to cope with these conditions…. it is not a race for novices wanting to enter their first fell race.

Two legs are run in pairs and two legs are run solo (so 6 runners per team) and teams compete for a number of prizes across different categories including Open, Ladies, Mixed and Vets teams.

Summary of legs:

LegsDescription
1 – Solo ShortCraig Rhiw-erch 4.2km/513m
2 – Pairs LongCraig Portas 11.1 km/758m
3 – Navigationmap provided on the day, 6-8 miles
4 – Solo ShortMoel Cwm yr Eglwys 4.6 km/481m

Please note: No recces are possible because the race is being held on private land.
Terrain: Steep mountain fell terrain. Full FRA kit and experience of fell running is required.
