The Six Stations Challenge
Stage 5. Grindleford Station (140m) to Dore & Totley Station (119m) via Higger Tor (434m)
Approx. 14.0km and 314m climb

Stage 5 starts with steps up from the station followed by a short road section to reach the track up the right side of Padley Gorge. Follow this path all the way to the road crossing at Toads Mouth, after which you follow the direct route to Carl Wark and Higger Tor. Crossing the stream at Burbage Bridge you follow the track past Ox Stones and through Lady Canning’s Plantation to Sheephill Road. You then have a lovely descent down Limb Valley, across Hathersage Road, and a final section through Ecclesall Woods. The ticket machine at Dore & Totley station is on Platform 2. Congratulations, you’ve made it!
