Stage 1
Edale Station (235m) to Hope Station (161m) via Mam Tor (517m)
Approx. 9.6km and 340m climb
This is a beautiful stage that starts with a slog up Harden Clough to join the Mam Nick road just below the top. After steps to the Mam Tor trig you follow the Great Ridge as far as the plantation below Back Tor where you start a long descent to Hope via Losehill Farm. Passing through Hope (cafes), you then have a short road section towards Bamford to reach Hope Station. The ticket machine is in the carpark.
